Completed secondary education (school leaving certificate / diploma of a college or vocational-technical school). All education documents issued outside Russia must pass legalization / apostille verification.

Профильные предметы

International (foreign-citizen) route: two entrance tests in major subjects plus a mandatory Russian language test, set by the university (not the Russian EGE). An additional creative exam may apply to certain specialties. The programme page separately publishes minimum scores for the 2026 intake: Математика 40, Русский язык 40, and one elective from Информатика 46 / Физика 41 / Химия 40 — that score table is labelled 2026 and is not confirmed for the 2027-2028 intake.

Язык

Russian language at CEFR level B1-B2, verified by the university's mandatory Russian language entrance test. A certificate of completion of a Russian language course (from the UrFU Russian Language School or another authorized institution) may be submitted instead of taking the language test. The programme itself is taught in Russian only.

295 000 RUB per year for citizens of CIS countries (Kazakhstan is explicitly listed as CIS); 320 000 RUB per year for non-CIS citizens; 272 000 RUB per year for graduates of the UrFU Preparatory Department. A reduced figure of 250 800 RUB is shown in brackets against the CIS price with an asterisk whose conditions are not explained on the page. The 246 000 / 209 100 RUB figures on the Russian-language programme page apply to Russian Federation citizens only and must not be used for Kazakhstani applicants.

No application fee and no tuition deposit: the university states it does not charge any additional fees for the admission procedure.

Стипендии и скидки

Two funding routes are published for foreign citizens: (1) the Russian Government Scholarship (quota), selected through Rossotrudnichestvo offices and Russian embassies and applied for at education-in-russia.com, covering tuition for the full period of study, a monthly stipend regardless of academic results, and on-campus accommodation; (2) the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project, giving tuition-free undergraduate admission, applied for at od.globaluni.ru. No programme-specific scholarship for 22.03.02 Metallurgy is published.
